Educational Kinesiology (Edu-K) is an approach that aims to promote the natural know-how ability that underpins intellectual, emotional and practical skilfulness. This innovative self-discovery & development method employs precisely devised and targeted Brain Gym® and related body movements in pursuit of successful goal outcomes. The movements and method were developed by Dr Paul Dennison from a range of traditional health & wellbeing disciplines including: the Chinese Acupuncture Meridian System, Yoga and the Indian Chakra System, and Eurhythmy from the Anthroposophical Movement, as well as Western developments in understanding neurological functioning and mainstream treatments such as physiotherapy. The Edu-K session process is specifically tailored to satisfy client individuality and priority goal requirements. 

A bio-feedback technique called Muscle Response Testing is used to assist the client centred and tailored method as well as to support outcome results noticing.
​The session starts by acknowledging your​ concern issue and then asking: “ What do you want?”  and “How will you recognise your newly attained success?”

What to expect?
Edu-K & Brain Gym® consultants don’t diagnose or treat specific conditions but work with people to explore the scope for achieving new and exciting goals or possibilities? Some example goal issues clients have "Balanced" for in the past:

My son's goals were to improve his concentration and be able to express himself through writing. Since seeing Mandy and using prescribed Brain Gym® exercises these have been achieved. Consequently there was a marked improvement in his exam grades and this has boosted his confidence and motivation.

What happens during a session?
The priority personal goal is identified and explored. Objective observation and bio-feedback checking techniques are then employed to assist an individualized approach to selecting suitable Brain Gym® options; these are then practiced. Before and after Brain Gym noticing is utilised to encourage meaningful awareness of session outcomes such as newly acquired ease or competence, and to allow consolidation of newly attained goal successes. Once learnt, Brain Gym movements can also be used independently to help promote success in a wide range of immediately challenging situations.

What is Brain Gym®?
Brain Gym® is the programme of 26 simple body movements which belong to the Educational Kinesiology (Edu-K) foundation approach. Brain Gym selection is based upon observation and aims to promote positive changes in how you think, feel and perform in situations where success is elusive or too effortful. Some common examples are: staying calm, centred and in command of my actions when coping with difficult feelings, staying focussed on what I am reading, being motivated to complete my tax return, mundane chores, etc.

How could Edu-K help me?
As humans we are continually learning and refining our skilfulness throughout life so there is scope for many goal possibilities when it comes to embracing the potential for personal attainment. A good example of this is in the challenge of establishing and nurturing positive working, social and intimate relationships. Performance and aptitude limits are another area that may become problematic when goal success is a requirement, perhaps at work or as any school student struggling with core subjects will know! And then there are those who lament having been good at something in the past which eludes them now. In situations such as these and for those looking to advance their mental, emotional and practical and performance mastery, even when nothing else seems to work, Edu-K can often provide a new way forward.
​Who can benefit?
Individual Educational Kinesiology & Brain Gym® sessions are tailored to address the aspirations of anyone interested in aptitude or personal success advancement. To the extent that nobody is good at everything it follows that virtually anyone could benefit from improved ability in some areas of life. When that prospect seems easier said than done, or even if nothing else has worked, Educational Kinesiology & Brain Gym® can typically help deliver success. It is suitable for people of virtually all ages and fitness levels and because movement is inextricably involved in everything we do, it follows that the life-changing potential is immeasurable.
​Although many people experience immediate advances, session-by-session progress is cumulative. Consultation frequency is determined by client requirements with 3 – 4 weeks between follow-ups being quite typical. Clients come suitably dressed in comfortable clothing & footwear.
Before I went to see Mandy, I was exhausted, everything was so much effort and I had no work/life balance. I felt I couldn’t assert myself. And to confront someone — dear me, that would be utterly impossible! Yet I work in a confrontational environment, so it’s something I need to be able to do. And as for men — I was always totally absorbed by every romantic relationship, to the point that I lost the sense of being able to cope on my own.
I have been working with Mandy for a few months now and I can’t believe the results. Although recently I’ve been going through a pretty awful chain of events, I am no longer crumbling as I used to. My life is getting more balanced, and I am so at ease with myself that I no longer feel that I need a partner to be whole. I am so solid inside that I can’t believe it myself. I feel like I’ve finally ‘arrived’.
